Assistants
Taskaid doesn't prescribe a workflow. It holds tasks, lists and a daily plan; any assistant you connect can read and change them, and what you do with that is yours. This page collects a few things people do — useful mostly if you've connected an assistant and aren't sure what to ask for.
Carrying context between assistants
Assistants don't talk to each other. A task does.
Something worked out in one conversation — a decision, an approach, links you gathered — can go in a task's note, and the next assistant picks it up from there. The reference makes it one line: "read TASKAID-45 and carry on from there."
Nothing is special-cased about this. It's a task with a note, used as somewhere to leave something — for a different assistant, or for yourself next week.
A plan can change through the day
The daily plan is one piece of writing per day, and nothing says it has to be written once and left alone. An assistant can change part of it without rewriting the rest, so anything you wrote yourself stays in your words.
Small updates are worth asking for on their own: "the review moved to 4pm, update the plan", or "add the billing fix under this afternoon."
Finishing can mean two changes
Completing a task and taking its line off the plan are separate — the plan is writing, not a view of your tasks. Assistants will usually do both if you ask: "mark the electricity bill done and take it off today's plan."
Whether you keep the plan current or let it go stale by evening is up to you. Nothing depends on it.
If you're not sure what to ask for
Some openers, in no particular order:
- "What's on my plate today?"
- "Read my tasks and write me a plan for the day."
- "Put everything I didn't get to today on tomorrow."
- "Add a task to review the Q3 doc, Thursday, and star it."
- "What did I finish this week?"
