# WebMCP for browser assistants

_2026-11-05_

An assistant working in your browser can now read your tasks, lists and daily plans through tools on Taskaid's pages, instead of clicking through them.

- Sign in to Taskaid in your assistant's browser, and it finds the tools.
- It searches your tasks, opens one and reads your lists and daily plans.
- There's nothing to connect: it uses the account you're signed in with.

Assistants have reached your tasks through the MCP server once you connect them. Some assistants, such as the one in the ChatGPT desktop app, also work inside a browser, opening pages and clicking through them the way you would. Taskaid's pages now offer those assistants the MCP server's read tools, so they ask for what they need instead of reading it off the screen.

This works in browsers that support WebMCP, a proposed web standard for tools on web pages, and other browsers show the pages as before. For now the tools only read. Changes still go through the pages, or through an assistant connected over MCP.
